Kristen Smitherman-Voltaire; Turner Construction - Kristen manages the company’s community outreach and economic inclusion efforts. In her role, she applies her unique combination of community engagement, equity and inclusion, and project management experience to cultivate sustainable economic impact for underrepresented businesses and inspire the next generation of go-getters to imagine themselves in a fulfilling career in the construction industry. She also co-founded and co-leads Turner’s Ohio Inclusion Action Team, the first regional model at Turner designed to enact an anti-racism strategy.

Gina Stough currently serves as the Vice President of Human Resources for the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) where she’s a member of the Executive Team. She’s responsible for defining, developing, and directing the implementation of strategic human resource initiatives, including talent management, labor cost management, total rewards systems, compliance, employee relations and HR data/technology.

Her diverse career path began in the non-profit sector where she worked to improve the accessibility and quality of public services for diverse and underrepresented populations. In her non-profit tenure she specialized in removing systemic barriers to service by providing guidance and training for service providers in the court system, law enforcement, health care, and social services. In 2007, her career path shifted to civil rights law enforcement and education when she served at as a Bilingual Investigator at both State and Federal agencies.

She was recruited into the private sector in 2010 by a global transportation company. During her ten years of service, she centralized the company’s equal employment opportunity response, assisted in the development of a stabilization plan for Panama’s mass transit system, designed and implemented the company’s first online university, and provided leadership oversight for company-wide talent development programs and training compliance.

Ms. Stough earned her bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Wright State University and her master’s degree in Management from Antioch Midwest University. She is a Senior Certified Human Resources Professional.

Fred Gilmer has a 21 year career as a police officer in a major metropolitan city. Fred has expertise as an Academy Instructor and a Negotiator, he currently teaches Customer Service classes, and Cultural Inclusion workshops on racism. He received his Bachelors of Science degree in Criminal Justice from West Virginia State University and a Masters of Science degree in Executive Leadership and Organizational Change at Northern Kentucky University. Mr. Gilmer is a member of the NAACP, National Diversity Council, and the Police and Firemen Association Hall of Fame.

John Hawkins is the President and CEO of MPI Consulting, a 46-year-old Organizational Development and Human Resource consulting practice in Cincinnati.

John has more than 27 years of experience in executive positions with some of the world’s leading blue-chip companies such as Novartis, Kellogg’s and Glendinning Management Consulting. John started his professional career at Procter and Gamble where he spent seventeen years and progressed through the company in positions of greater responsibility in Sales, Marketing, Human Resources, Logistics and International where he was Head of Sales for P&G’s company business in Brazil.

John is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, where he received his Bachelor of Business Administration in Banking and Finance. He is also a former US Army Reserve Officer.

Moderator

Roula Allouch of Graydon Law is a trial attorney with experience handling a range of litigation matters including in the areas of employment, civil rights, personal injury, and workers’ compensation appeals. Ms. Allouch earned her undergraduate degree, magna cum laude, from the University of Kentucky in 2003 and her juris doctor from the University of Kentucky College of Law in 2006. She is licensed to practice in all state and federal courts in Kentucky and Ohio and before the United States Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals.

Ms. Allouch is an active member of the legal community and the community at large. She currently serves as Chair of the National Board of Directors of the Council on American-Islamic Relations, the nation’s largest civil rights and advocacy group for the American Muslim community. She is a member of the Board of Directors of the American Bar Association’s Rule of Law Initiative and serves as a Kentucky delegate to the Association’s House of Delegates. Ms. Allouch was recently recognized as a Daughter of Greatness by the Muhammad Ali Center and serves on the Center’s Board of Directors. Ms. Allouch is also a faculty member with the Islamic Seminary of America. She has an interest in the arts and recently joined the Leadership Committee for the Over-The-Rhine International Film Festival.
